The Cokato-Dassel Lions will be partnering with community volunteers and local grocery stores to ensure those at risk to the COVID-19 virus and living in the Dassel-Cokato School District have access to needed groceries.
Residents without a means of accessing food will contact their community grocery store and volunteers will deliver to the door, knock or ring the doorbell, step back and wait to ensure the delivery is accepted. Volunteers will not enter residences. We realize neighbors will be helping neighbors and encourage those relationships to continue.
Cokato residents will contact The Market Place (320-286-6341) to place their order. Deliveries from The Market Place will be made on Saturdays starting at noon and Wednesdays starting at 5:00.
Dassel residents will contact Red Rooster Foods (320-275-2254) to place their order. Deliveries from Red Rooster Foods will be made on Tuesday and Friday starting at 5:00.
Payment will need to be made with a credit card when ordering. Volunteers will not be handling money. Orders should be made 2 hours in advance of delivery times. For efficient delivery we request a minimum order of $20 and ask residents to be considerate and refrain from overly large orders and bulky, heavy items. Please understand not all brands/items will be available at times.
The Cokato-Dassel Lions will graciously accept community volunteers as we anticipate the need will be great and this situation will be long term. We will need volunteers to shop and deliver. We anticipate shopping will begin at the order deadline each day. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to volunteer.
Starting dates will be Tuesday, March 24th in Dassel and Wednesday, March 25 in Cokato.
Please be patient as this is a fluid situation and we will be making changes as necessary.
